YORK Badgers clinched the Development League title with a hard fought 1-1 draw away against Harrogate.

Midfield trio Jasper Richardson, Harry Jenner and Emil Waites controlled play early on.

But Harrogate could have taken the lead but for good closing down by Cara Mackay.

The Badgers took the lead midway through the first half when Luke Harbord converted following good work by Adam Gilbert and Robert Vaughan.

Forwards Katie Wiggins, Tom Feetenby, Josh Perryman and Lewis Francis pressed hard for a second goal.

But Harrogate levelled to set up a tense finale.

The Badgers defence stayed strong with timely tackles from Philip Ellwood and Bailey Kaye.
