FULFORDGATE captain Michelle Britton was once again on top form in her team's York John Smith’s Ladies Darts League encounter at Edinburgh.

Britton's 23-dart leg was ably assisted by her vice-captain Dawn Exton (24) as both players included two ton scores in their game.

'Gate, the division one champions-elect, were taken to the wire however by their hosts, whose Amanda Bevan and Julie Stables had given them a 2-0 lead.

Muriel Britton added a point for the visitors before Emma Frankland sent the teams into the pairs all square.

The ‘Gate captain pulled out some top darts in the pairs with Jill Reed – including scores of 140, 124 and 100 – before mum Muriel and niece Cara Britton confirmed the victory.

The two teams challenging for the runners-up spot both fell short. Burnholme, who hold second by a better win margin, fell to Shoulder ‘A’s final pairing of Danni Laycock and Wendy Shortle in a tight game.

The teams were tied 3-3 entering the pairs as Sue Tate and Sandra Bruce edged Shoulder in front, with Jane Dobson and Sharon Neads setting up the decider.

Priory found themselves 4-2 adrift of visitors Leeman ‘B’ whose Julie Oliver combined with Vicki Capes to seal victory. Maggie Bedingham and Brenda Dawe added a point for a 6-3 result.

Tramway were 4-2 up at Bootham Cons Club. However, Nella Majsterek and Wendy Sullivan, and then Linda Staveley and Anne Gibson set up a decider which saw Tracey Farmeary and Tina Platt snatch the match points for ‘Ways.

In division two, Severus ‘A’ suffered after holding a 4-2 advantage, with Sue Clark, Davina Shannon, Jackie Simpson and Steph Barker setting the pace.

Linda Turgoose, with a 61 checkout, and Elma Standing replied, while a clean sweep in the pairs saw captain Cris Turgoose combine with Standing to snatch victory.

The loss was not too disastrous as Severus ‘B’ suffered after Michelle Kelly had won the opener. Clockhouse replied with Kate and Sarah Rankeillor and then Rose Gray winning.

Ann Meek and Sharon Mountain levelled before Gray was joined by Sammy Benton to edge Clock in front.

Laura Gatenby and Kate Rankeillor sealed victory, with Sarah Rankeillor and Lisa Benton completing the clean sweep in the pairs for a 6-3 result.

Debbie and Charlotte Witts were joined by Leeman ‘A’ colleague Denise Pittock as they raced into a 3-0 advantage before Alison Buckley, Carol Price replied for visitors Shoulder ‘B’.

Dawn Clarke restored the lead, with Price and Jackie Young narrowing the gap. However, Debbie Witts and Pittock sealed match points and Margaret Yeomans joined Clarke to make the final score 6-3.

Saddle completed their second win of the season after being tied 3-3 in the singles with visitors Burton Stone, whose Sheila Harrison and Katrina Thackeray won.

However, Chris Patterson and Vicky McClaren levelled, and colleagues Liz Jackson and Sharon Nelson snatched victory.
