YAN Klukowski will not be fit enough to reclaim his York City starting place against Gateshead tomorrow night.

The 30-year-old defender missed Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Boreham Wood due to a calf problem that has not cleared up in time for him to feature against the Heed.

City switched from 3-4-3 to 4-3-3 at the weekend due to Klukowski’s absence but manager Gary Mills could still revert back to a three-man defence with Shaun Rooney in line for a recall.

“Yan’s still no good,” Mills confirmed. “We don’t think it’s anything major and, hopefully, he’ll be back for Saturday.”

The City boss also has no plans to bolster his ranks ahead of the meeting with his olf club despite fellow defenders Clovis Kamdjo (knee) and Matt Fry (knee) being long-term absentees and midfielder Simon Lappin ruled out for the rest of the campaign.

“Nobody has jumped out at me yet,” Mills said of a possible venture into the transfer market. “If we pick up another injury, we will have to bring somebody in but, for the moment, we will be going with the same group of players.”
