YORK City Knights boss James Ford says they won't be taking the opposition lightly after being drawn at home to amateurs Egremont Rangers in the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup.

The third round saw Kingstone Press League One clubs go into the draw alongside the community clubs who made it through round two.

In the past, the draw was seeded so amateur teams were paired with semi-pro clubs but this year it was an open draw, with five all-League One ties coming out of the hat.

York instead got the National Conference League outfit from Cumbria.

Ford said: "I'm happy it's a home draw. I don't know a lot about Egremont so we will have to do some digging, but they beat Wigan St Patrick's away in the last round so they will be a side with ability and we'll need to make sure we're fully focussed and perform to our best.

"We won't be taking them lightly. We've played amateur teams in the past and they've always impressed with their skill levels and how they play, and I'm sure Egremont will be the same, especially coming from a strong rugby league area like Cumbria."

Notable other ties saw NCL big guns Siddal drawn at home to League One new boys Toronto, while Newcastle will host Workington in arguably the pick of the all-League One matches.

Ladbrokes Challenge Cup round 3 draw in full: West Hull or Thatto Heath Crusaders v Whitehaven, Hemel Stags v London Skolars, Fryston Warriors v Keighley Cougars, Gloucestershire All Golds v North Wales Crusaders, Newcastle Thunder v Workington Town, Doncaster v Myton Warriors, Siddal v Toronto Wolfpack, Barrow Raiders v Rochdale Mayfield, York City Knights v Egremont Rangers, South Wales Ironmen v Oxford, Hunslet v Coventry Bears, Wests Warriors v Haydock.
