TADCASTER Albion suffered the frustration of having their Evo-Stik League Division One North clash at Glossop North End called off – after it had passed a morning pitch inspection.

The Brewer travelled after the game got the go-ahead following the 10am pitch inspection, only for the match to be called off when they arrived by the match referee.

The pitch inspection was held after one area of the ground had not drained properly.

Glossop North End tweeted: "Thanks to our terrific groundstaff who did everything they could. Apologies to everyone connected with @TadcasterAlbion, we know these suck."

The Hillmen's home game against Gresley Rovers last Tuesday was also called off due to a waterlogged pitch.

Meanwhile, Alfreton Town recalled Tom Allan from his loan spell at Albion, putting him straight in the side for their Vanarama National League North home game against Worcester City, which resulted in a 0-0 draw.

Allan made seven appearances for the Brewers and was extremely impressive, scoring three goals and assisting twice from centre back.

Unfortunately, his parent club Alfreton have picked up several injuries in recent weeks leading to the recall.
