YORK continued their unbeaten start to the North Eastern League season with a 105-69 victory over Leeds, winning all four rinks.

Joan Jackson, Ann Donaldson, Hayley Robinson and Helen Walker trailed 5-4 with four ends gone but then won eight of the following ten to take a 30-7 lead, finishing 37-14.

The other three rinks were relatively close.

Sue Jeffrey, Jenny Darrell, Maureen Robinson and Pat Bracken came from 7-4 down to lead 15-7, finishing 19-16.

In Leeds, Michelle Ellis, Bar Saville, Kath Pepper and Pauline Armitage led 23-9 with seven ends to play but lost six of them to finish 24-20.

Brenda Love, Judythe Williams, Janet McManus and Maggie Pallister also had to come from behind, as they trailed 12-10 after nine ends before winning the next four, picking up seven shots, thereafter leading till the end for a 25-19 victory.

* TOMORROW, starting at noon, York Vikings play the return leg of their Yorkshire Over-55s League division one game against Doncaster.

On Saturday at noon, York play Harrogate in the Yorkshire Ladies League, while the club's Thanet Road base hosts the National Champion of Champions Singles Area Final between Scarborough's John Hall and Featherstone's Jeff Normanton.
