PHILIPPINES international midfielder Luke Woodland has signed for York City following his release by Sky Bet League One Oldham.

Woodland, 21, started out at Bolton, where he signed a two-year pro deal in 2013.

After joining Oldham on loan in March 2015 and making six appearances, he was released by Wanderers and, after a trial with MLS outfit New York Red Bulls, spent time at Chester and Bradford Park Avenue last season.

He returned to Oldham in July, but has only made two appearances this term and was given permission to play for City’s reserves earlier this month during the 3-0 home victory over Mansfield.
