DERRY ROBSON was the match-winner as The Fastpack Ltd York Sunday Morning League division one leaders Malt Shovel edged Hounds 2-1 in a hard-fought game.

First-half goals from Jamie England for Hounds and Gary Collier for Malt Shovel left the score level at half-time, with Robson netting the decider in the second stanza.

Free-scoring York Nomads went second - and into double figures for the second week running - as they hammered Marcia Bishopthorpe 11-2.

Hat-tricks came from Andy Simpson and Cam Mulhearn, who has now scored seven goals in two games. Their other marksmen were John Patrick, Danny Snaith, Sam Wilwood, Chris Bilton and substitute Sam Thompson.

Brayton rose to fifth by beating local rivals Thorpe United 5-0.

Brayton took a 2-0 interval lead with Jeremy Hall volleying home a Patrick Guest cross and Paul Tiffany pouncing on a ball spilled by Thorpe's goalkeeper.

Will Cleary latched onto a through ball and made it 3-0 with a minute of the resumption, before Joe Krygsman found the net after a counter attack for Brayton and Ryan Tiplady finished from a loose ball.

NUR beat fellow promoted side Cliffe 4-2.

They went in 1-1 at half-time, Gary Stephenson scoring for NUR and Cliffe equalising from an own goal.

Rob Constable’s free-kick put NUR 2-1 up before Nathan Parker levelled matters again.

Constable scored a penalty to edge NUR ahead again and this time Nicky Fletcher scored a solo effort to seal the win.

In division two, second-placed Haxby United won a close game against York Medics, the only goal coming in the first half from Matt Wash.

Elmpark JFC likewise edged Knapton Lions 1-0, Steve Smith finishing from the edge of the area.

Wentworth climbed three places after a 4-0 win over Bramham. Top scorer Dom Green (2), Peter Baird and Dan Mullen netted.

Beeswing beat Rawcliffe 4-2 with a hat-trick from Roy Page and a strike from Kirk Stevens. Peter Brews and Aaron Newman replied.
