THE match of the day in the York Minster Engineering League premier division was an end-to-end thriller between Sporting Knavesmire and Dringhouses.

Andrew Simpson and Danny Owers scored early goals for Knavesmire but determined Dringhouses battled back via Cameron Sanderson's effort.

A penalty from Sam Lingard squared the match with 25 minutes to go but Ryan Gothard's drive put the home side back in front shortly afterwards.

However, a late goal from James Green secured a 3-3 draw for 'Houses and sent both sides away with a well-deserved point.

Neither side could be separated in the Malton derby after 90 minutes.

Danny Fogg gave Old Malton St Mary's the lead after 15 minutes but Malton & Norton would not give up and levelled through Scott Preston with 20 minutes to play.

Leaders Huntington Rovers kept up their momentum with a 7-0 triumph over 2014 champions Riccall United.

Chris Dyson and Joe Milner bagged braces for Rovers, with Joe Milner, Liam Olsson and an own goal completing their tally.

Wigginton Grasshoppers picked up an important three points with a 2-1 victory at Dunnington.

Jamie Willstrop bagged two goals in the opening seven minutes as Wiggy asserted themselves but the home side assumed control from that moment onwards and reduced the deficit when Samson Wildwood headed home in the 20th minute.

Despite having the vast majority of the possession, Dunnington could not turn their play into chances as Wigginton hung on resolutely, almost drawing further clear at the end when Steve Jarvis fired wide of a post.

Third-placed-Church Fenton White Horse got off to a whirlwind start against Osbaldwick with a missed penalty and a goal in the first five minutes, centre half Rob MacQuarrie celebrating his birthday by prodding the ball home following a goalmouth scramble.

Osbaldwick settled to put the visitors under pressure, winning several successive corners before deservedly drawing level when Chris Bilton powered home a header.

In the second period, Church Fenton upped their game, with Adam Beevers heading home to restore their lead, and midway through the half, Fenton knocked the stuffing out of the home side with two goals in quick succession.

Left winger Liam McEnte finished off a good passing move and then lively right winger Jonathan Hadley broke clear to net the fourth.

Ben Jones and Josh Coulson grabbed two goals apiece piece in York RI's 6-3 win over Tadcaster Magnets.

Craig McShane and Anthony Madgwick completed the scoring for the home side, with Phil Smith hitting a hat-trick for Magnets.

Despite going behind early on, F1 Racing recorded their second victory of the season with a 5-2 triumph over Copmanthorpe.

Goals from Dan Hickey, Chris Dempsey and Jason McCloud gave the home side a 3-2 half-time lead before Dempsey and McCloud doubled their tallies in the second half.
