TADCASTER Albion host Kendal Town tomorrow looking to extend their unbeaten run to six games following their goalless midweek stalemate at Goole.

That result against a side struggling near the foot of Evo-Stik League division one north was disappointing for the Brewers - especially after they missed several gilt-edged chances - but it was at least another clean sheet and kept them in the play-off places in their maiden season at this level.

Taddy boss Billy Miller had made two changes to the side that beat Droylsden last Saturday, Fatlum Ibrahimi and Adam Baker starting in place of Conor Sellars and the injured Gregg Anderson.

Goole skipper Derry Robson lashed narrowly off target before Baker's deflected low drive nearly gave the visitors the lead.

Chances were few and far between in the first half but Josh Greening could have done better when scooping over from close range following a corner, while for the Vikings Ombeni Ruhanduka failed to hit the target from four yards out.

Greening almost gave Tad the lead in spectacular fashion after the break, chesting the ball down, flicking it over Louis Kirk and volleying brilliantly, only to see the shot skim the crossbar.

Tricky winger Ruhanduka acrobatically fired over before the Brewers had a goal controversially disallowed - Greening flagged offside when sliding in the rebound after Baker's shot was well saved.

Tom Corner was denied by a terrific close-range block, before Albion went even closer - Greening squaring to Baker who looked certain to score with the goal gaping only for defender Jordan Cooke to somehow divert the tap-in onto a post.

The Brewers had one final moment of exasperation, Josh Barrett's goalbound strike following a corner striking the unfortunate Corner in a crowded box.

Meanwhile, left-back Fraser Hansen has joined Northern Counties East League premier division side Harrogate Railway on dual-registration terms.

Hansen, 17, a key part of the Brewers' under-21s, teams up with former Taddy star and now Harrogate Railway assistant manager Liam Ormsby.

“We are delighted to have Fraser on board,” said newly appointed assistant Ormsby.

“He’s a talented young player with a great attitude and someone I know very well from my time at Tadcaster.”

Fraser went straight into the Railway squad for their midweek game at Rainworth Miners Welfare - a 3-0 defeat which ended a four-match unbeaten run and left the Rail down in 18th place. They host Maltby Main tomorrow.

Back in the Evo-Stik League division one north, Scarborough Athletic host Ramsbottom United tomorrow having moved level on points with Tadcaster in midweek thanks to a 1-0 win at Ossett Albion courtesy of Adam Bolder's 61st-minute goal.

Manager Steve Kittrick believes promotion is still a realistic target but warned: “This isn’t an easy league to get out of because of the quality players filtering down to this level.

“The clubs paying the money will always be up there. It is up to us to keep our heads down to try and compete with them.”

Striker Callum Terrell, 20, has left Boro having found opportunities limited.

Harrogate Town's promotion credentials in In National League North will come under scrutiny as they head to unbeaten leaders Fylde.

Harrogate, fourth in the table, have suffered two straight losses, including last week's FA Cup exit to Halifax.
