MALT Shovel, the current leaders of the Fastpack Ltd York Sunday Morning League, were beaten 3-1 by First Division rivals Hounds FC last weekend in the Barkston Ash FA Cup.

Gareth Roberts, Jack Healey and Steven Frost scored for Hounds.

Division two side Bramham FC lost 5-1 to Clifford while division one strugglers Thorpe lost 3-1 to Swillington Welfare.

In league action, York Nomads Society moved to third in the first division with a 15-0 victory over bottom-of-the table Cliffe FC. Cam Mulhearn scored four of the goals and Dan Andrew bagged a hat-trick. Sam Wildwood (2), Jonny Andrew (2), Mike Hattee, Danny Snaith, Chris Bilton and substitute John Patrick also found the target.

Defending champions Wigginton Grasshoppers won a fiercely contested encounter with NUR.

Rob Constable gave NUR the lead before Wigginton replied courtesy of Tom Derbyshire. A good team move saw Constable heading NUR into a 2-1 interval. Terry Taylor and Steve Jarvis scored in the last 20 minutes to give Wiggington a 3-2 victory.

Bubwith White Swans lost 4-2 to Brayton who opened the scoring after 20 minutes through Paul Tiffany. They went further ahead when Will Cleary got on the end of a long clearance and shot past the goalkeeper.

Bubwith levelled before halftime thanks to goals fromWithlam and Wood. Brayton scored twice in the second half through a Tiffany volley and a back post header by Kyle Wilks.

Haxby United are second in the division two table after a thrilling 4-3 victory over Beeswing. Haxby's goals came from Matt Wash (2), Tom Maskell, and Billy Lindsell. Beeswing’s goals were scored by Mike Tansey, Kirk Stevens and Anthony Williams.

Knapton Lions came from two goals behind to draw 2-2 at home to Wentworth. Joe Brennan and Dom Green scored for Wentworth before Harry Junior scored twice after the break to earn Knapton a share of the points.
