NEW Earswick Indoor Bowls Club fell 73-54 to Harrogate in the Egham Trophy.
At home, Pat Walker, Margaret Moss, Brian Gray and Andrew Fothergill were always behind in a close match against D Spilsbury's rink but from being 14-9 down after 13 of the 18-end game, they went on to win the last five, including taking a three at the penultimate end, for a 17-14 victory.
Denise Elliot, Norma Davies, Bob Elliot and Colin Pickup only scored one single in the first 12 ends to trail S Webster's rink 18-1 after 12 ends. They managed to win four of the last six ends but lost 23-7.
At Harrogate, Kath Hardcastle, Irene Warrington, Colin Ellis and Vic Thompson were only 12-9 behind S Swift after 11 ends but they dropped eight shots at the next three ends to trail before picking up seven on the last three ends to go down 21-16.
Sally Domville, Monika Morgan, John Harrison and Gary Jones led C Legate 8-2 after eight ends but lost the next five ends to go 10-8 down.
They won three of the next four ends to lead 14-12 with one end to go but dropped a three to go down 15-14.
