LEADERS Coneysthorpe 'A' recorded their third consecutive 10-0 victory in division one of the Time Communications York and District Table Tennis League - this time over York RI 'C'.

York RI 'A' remain unbeaten in second place after a 9-1 demolition of newly-promoted Clarence 'B'.

A treble from Aidan Ranftler and two wins from Graham Hatfield allowed Clarence 'A' to secure a 7-3 victory against York RI 'B' with Andy Fletcher contributing a brace for York RI.

Joe Wright and John Wooldridge were on top form for Bootham 'A' as they defeated Coneysthorpe 'B' 7-3.

In division two, despite fielding only two players, Bootham 'B' maintained their 100 per cent start with Joe Suchecki unbeaten in a 6-4 win over rivals Bootham 'C'.

Although Ryan Hood played superbly to win all his singles against Shepherds 'A', he could not prevent York RI 'F' suffering a 6-4 defeat.

Ishan Bairoilya and Locryn Van de Velde were too strong for Strensall as University 'A' opened their season with an 8-2 victory.

Poppleton edged a close encounter with Clarence 'C' 6-4. Russ Barton and Matt Ayres contributed two wins for Poppleton whilst Pat Swindell repeated this for Clarence.

Ryedale@RI moved to the top of the third division with a treble from Ed Wardman proving decisive in a 7-3 win against University 'B'. Student Sonja Wieland played well on her York debut - defeating both John Freeman and John Eastwood.

Jason Chinnian was unbeaten as Bootham 'D' recorded an excellent 7-3 victory over BT 'A'.

Paul Greenwood and Simon Lawrence played superbly as York RI 'H' thrashed Clarence 'E' 9-1.

Shepherds 'B' prevailed 6-4 against a determined Clarence 'D'. Mike Surtees and Paul Kozyra contributed twi wins for Shepherds whilst Julian Taylor and Terry Yeomans did likewise for Clarence.
