TADCASTER Albion captain Jimmy Beadle has left the club due to personal reasons.

Beadle, who is a self-employed miner and starts work in the early hours of the morning, recently suffered a back injury.

Coupled with the significant travelling time from his home in Scarborough, the former York City midfielder has decided to take a break from football.

Beadle, 28, played a key role in Albion's promotion last season and scored 22 goals.

Manager Billy Miller said: "I fully understand and support Jimmy's decision. He was one of my best ever signings, massively influential in our triumph last year. His commitment and attitude have been second to none and we all wish him well for the future."

Chairman Matt Gore said "This has really come out of the blue and is quite a shock but we fully understand his situation. I had a long chat with Jimmy during the week and he is a true gent."

"He has been unbelievable for the club and a brilliant captain. His goals will live long in the memory and he will go down in the club's history.

"Who knows what the future will hold and one day we may see him return?" added Gore. "No doubt there will be huge interest for him to sign for clubs more local should he decide that is right."

Beadle, meanwhile, said: "It's with great regret that I'm leaving as I'm just struggling to make the commitment the club deserves. It has been an unbelievable 15 months with the club and I'm so grateful for the opportunity and honoured to have been captain.

"There's an amazing spirit within the club and I'm sure it's just going to go from strength to strength."
