THE York Minster Engineering League's representative team have their first game of the season tonight (WED) against their Scarborough & District League counterparts.

The match, for the Ernie Fairclough Challenge Trophy, will be played at Pickering Town's Recreation Ground, kick off 7.30pm.

Managers Andy Barkway and Gary Kitson have had some late call-offs so were leaving it late to name their team.

York are the current holders of the trophy.

The York league then meet the Humberside League at Pocklington on November 2, to be followed by games against the Yorkshire Amateur League and the Teesside League, prior to the national competition kicking off in the new year.

Meanwhile, in division three of the York Minster Engineering League, Rufforth United claimed their second win in style on Saturday, thrashing Moor Lane 12-0.

Liam Keenaghan and Leigh Dutton bagged hat-tricks withTom Norton, Sean Stockdale, Danny Cates (2) and Adam Brooke (2) also on target.

Selby Olympia beat South Milford 5-1 in the division's other game.

St Clement's made it four wins out of four as they pulled six points clear at the top of division four. The evergreen Mark Scoreby bagged a brace. LNER Builders gained a 5-3 success over Bramham.

Alex Wilson and Simon Castle both hit doubles for Dunnington reserves as they gained a second win in their quest to retain their reserve 'A' title.

Rob Hart got their fifth goal in a 5-1 win, Dunnington overpowering visitors Dringhouses in the second half. The sides had been level at the break thanks to Alex Day's goal for 'Houses.

Copmanthorpe are also on maximum points after Gavin Harford (2) and Jacob Green gave them a 3-2 victory over Old Malton St Mary's. Luke Foulkes and Tom Peel replied.

Church Fenton White Horse lost 4-2 at home to Tadcaster Magnets.

Riccall United top reserve 'B' following a 2-1 win at Bishopthorpe United. Gary Chapman grabbed both goals.

Pocklington Town, Haxby United and F1 Racing all gained 5-0 victories, over Osbaldwick, Brooklyn and Tockwith respectively. Harrison Signs lost 3-1 at home to Easingwold.

Connor Larner (3), Si Marshall (2), Danny Cook, Luke Richardson and Chris Haigh all found the net as York RI beat Selby Olympia 8-4 in reserve 'C'.

James Wilshire and Tim Lord were on target for Heworth Green in a 2-1 win over Wetherby Athletic. Alex Oliver netted for Cliffe but they went down 3-1 at home to Poppleton.

Barry Dillion and Dave Clarke bagged for Rufforth United in a 2-0 triumph at Civil Service. Tom Shephard (4), Declan Coulthard (3), Paul Bird and Tom Smith scored in Malt Shovel's 9-2 win over Fulford.
