BARROW will entertain York City in their richest vein of home form for more than 13 years.

The Cumbrians are unbeaten at their Holker Street headquarters in 13 fixtures since a 2-1 defeat to last term’s National League champions Cheltenham back on February 6.

That sequence, which includes seven wins and six draws, represents the longest run of undefeated matches in front of their own supporters since 2002/03 when Barrow were plying their trade at UniBond Premier League level.

Forest Green, Aldershot and Wrexham, meanwhile, are the only other sides not to lose home game in non-League football’s top tier this term.

Barrow have also jumped up to fourth on the back of a six-game unbeaten run, accumulating 14 points from a possible 18.

In their last match, Paul Cox’s men won 2-1 at Lincoln to knock their hosts off the top of the table and the Bluebirds only trail new leaders Dagenham by three points.

Cox, himself, won the Conference title with Mansfield in 2013.

Barrow boast plenty of firepower having only fired blanks in one of their last 13 contests, although Richie Bennett, who has netted five times this season despite only starting as many games, is doubtful this weekend after turning his ankle having got on the scoresheet against Lincoln.

Six-goal leading marksman Byron Harrison is now expected to be partnered by Ross Hannah, who hit the target 25 times for Chester last season, but has notched just twice in nine outings for his new club.

Midfielder Alex-Ray Harvey is also set to be sidelined against City due to a knee problem picked up against the Imps and his place is likely to be filled by ex-Macclesfield campaigner Paul Turnbull.

With right-back Shaun Beeley (groin) and utility-man Andy Parry (knee) still in the treatment room too, this weekend could represent the biggest test yet for Cox’s modest-sized squad of 18 senior players, plus loan additions Dom Smith and Ryan Yates.

Ex-City winger Lindon Meikle, nevertheless, has failed to start the last three matches and half of his eight appearances for Barrow have been from the bench.

With his team low on numbers, Cox could dispense with his policy of filling the bench with outfield players and name reserve keeper Andy Coughlin as a substitute.

Barrow (probable): Dixon, Smith, Diarra, Livesey, Wilmer-Anderton, Hughes, Turnbull, Yates, Williams, Hannah, Harrison.
