James King (2), Jordan Southwell, OG, and Tom Charlesworth also found the net while Charlie William and Oliver Longbottom replied for the visitors.

Both Ben Singleton (4) and Tom McRory (3) scored hat-tricks as Poppleton enjoyed a 10-1 victory at Wilberfoss. Paul Dodd (2) and Billy Annett were also on target for Poppleton and Olly Peck scored the consolation.

Bishopthorpe White Rose and Stamford Bridge shared the points in a 1-1 draw - Adam Henry scored for Rose and Bevan Foster for Bridge.

Easingwold Hawks drew 2-2 with Rawcliffe. Josh Cryer and Frankie Hendricks scored for the Hawks, Jack Daniel and Niall Smallwood replied.

Champions Dringhouses romped to a 10-0 victory at RI thanks to goals from Jordan Emery (3), Joe Rawcliffe (2), Tom Rushworth (2) Sam Backhouse, Cam Loftus and Lucas Hindle.

York Under-11’s schoolboys had their first outing of the season in a friendly knockout competition held in Leeds.

York were in a tough group alongside Wirral, Stockton, Leeds, Derby and Chester-Le-Street.

Against Wirral, York found it hard to compete with the opposition's 'pass and move' game and goalkeeper George Brown could do little to stop two long range strikes.

York improved against Leeds, with defender Paul Iggulden and midfielder Adam Clarkson leading the way, but both sides were unable to break the deadlock.

A victory finally arrived against Stockton with Bobby Boyson and Ronnie Kelly scoring in a 2-1 win.

York suffered a 1-0 defeat against Chester-le Street before producing their best performance of the competition to beat Derby 3-0 courtesy of goals from

Two wins, two defeats and a draw was a respectable return for this fledgling group who showed lots of promise for the forthcoming season. Chester-le Street were the overall winners.

Dringhouses Under-14s started the new season with back-to-back wins against Bishopthorpe and Poppleton.

After knocking five goals past Bishopthorpe without reply, they beat Poppleton 1-0 thanks to a goal from Oliver Levitt.
