THE STANDINGS in the Hunters York & District Senior League remain unchanged after rain played havoc with the latest round of matches, leaving everything still to play for with two games to go.

Leaders Clifton Alliance made 171-9 against Bolton Percy with Hayden Bradley top-scoring for the home side with 69, but the visitors only got the chance to face a couple of overs before the match was abandoned with their reply at 13-0. The result leaves the Clifton Park side needing victory in either of their last two matches to guarantee them a spot in the Premier League next season.

Easingwold face the same scenario after their match at Pickering ended with the visitors on 102-2 and Stephen Piercy unbeaten on 50, that coming in reply to the hosts 208-6 which included 82 from Isaac Christopher and 36 from Dan Ward.

Sessay were able to make up a couple of points on the two sides above them after they put York’s bowlers to the sword, scoring 211-4 from just 32 overs before declaring. Former Clifton Park favourite Simon Mason (108) scored a century before the visitors called a halt to their innings in an attempt to force a result but Russell Bowry (26no) and Tom Brooks (27no) held firm as the hosts reached 56-1 before rain ended the contest.

Studley Royal made up ground on their promotion rivals, finishing with a winning draw at home to Goole Town. James Clarkson struck his fourth century of the season, finishing unbeaten on 104, and Rob Nicholson made 74 as the hosts scored 229-4. Ben Earl replied with 81 for the visitors and 33 a piece from Ashton Nottingham and Ollie Ounsley got their side to within 23 of the target with six wickets down by the close.

Beverley Town escaped a likely defeat to local rivals Driffield Town after play was abandoned with them on 93-5 which included 30 from Jon Vodden and an unbeaten 28 from Robert Fish. That was after hosts had scored 211-8, Luke Ramsey leading the way with 33 as Jamie Roe (3-61) and Sam Welburn (3-53) shared six wickets.

Matthew Bunn took 4-45 for Hull Zingari as bottom side Heworth struggled to 150-9 at Elm Park Way. Ryan Kirk also chipped in with 3-41 but the visitors were unable to take advantage getting to 65-2 before the rain brought a halt to proceedings.
