CHRIS Evans hit an unbeaten 57 as leaders Dringhouses (155-2) continued their winning run in the Hunters York & District Senior Cricket League Ebor division two.

Dringhouses chased down the 151-10 set by visitors Pickering II to win by eight wickets. Evans’ innings completed a sterling all-round performance following his 4-21 in the first innings.

York III displaced Scarborough II in second place when they returned from North Marine Road with a three wicket win.

Scarborough posted 158-10 but Ben Horseman hit 48 and Jack Neil 26 not out as York took maximum points and closed on 161-7.

Mike Newhouse (5-20) was amongst the wickets as he helped Yapham bowl out Clifton Alliance II (117-10) at Shipton Road.

Martin Pearson was 40 not out as Yapham closed on 118-4 to take full points.

Jonathan Dilks (129*) was the hero at Carlton Towers as they stayed in touch with the leaders following a wicket win over Acomb II.

Paul Hemingway (77), Scott Nicholls (51), and Dan Littlewood (39) helped set up a first innings 224-7 despite Carlton skipper Rob Holah taking 4-67.

Dilks was well supported by Ben Pickering (77*) as his side cruised to a 10 wicket victory.

Joel Johnson was 66 not out and Arthur Campion scored 39 as Heworth II (153-5) thwarted hosts Hemingbrough.

In the first innings Rob Scarr (58), Matt Milburn (51), and Tom Collins (50) all weighed in with contributions to enable Hemingbrough post 243-5.

Bottom club Castleford did their survival chances no harm at all with a seven-wicket win at Cawood in Ebor division three.

Daniel Andrew hit 144 for Dunnington II (293-5 dec) as they set visitors Copmanthorpe a steep target at Common Lane.

Andrew’s innings was supported by skipper Josh Tattersall (57), and Steve Jackson (47*) with Alistair Byers grabbing 3-57 for Copmanthorpe.

The visitors got off to worst of starts as Andrew (2-19), and Adam Sutcliffe (2-16) took early wickets which Copmanthorpe never really recovered from as they were bowled out for 92.

Whitkirk II (182-6) took advantage of Stamford Bridge’s blank week by closing the gap on the leaders with a four wicket win at Pocklington II (181-9).

Liam Serginson hit 45, and Dan Croft 42 for the home side with Stuart Pickles (4-40) and Paul Johnson (4-44) bagging wickets for Whitkirk.

Pickles (51) and Craig Shipton (45*) combined with the bat see the visitors home to maximum points.

Lucas Stephenson backed up centuries in previous weeks with 6-25 for Londesborough Park II (201-7) as they took the bulk of the points in a drawn game at Civil Service (110-9). Simon Dodd (40) top scored for the visitors whilst the home side had Wayne Phelps (37), and Simon Brown (35) to thanks for keeping them in the game.

In Ebor division four, Khalid Shefta scored 100 on his debut for Cawood II after a midweek transfer from Tadcaster Magnet but it was in vain as the 187-8 racked up by the visitors was passed by hosts Woodhouse Grange IV (188-5) for the loss of just five wickets.

Bolton Percy II (301-3) had a comfortable win over visiting Heworth IV (62-10) after James Hodge (73), Giles Anderson (70), and Duncan Robertson (66*) had set the foundation for a very challenging total.

Skipper Steve Sissons (25) top scored for Heworth, but honours went to Jon Anderson who bagged 5-2 off 6.5 overs for Bolton Percy.
