THIRD placed Woodhouse Grange II lost ground on the top two after drawing at Sheriff Hutton Bridge II in the Hunters York and District Senior League Galtres division two.

Chasing a target of 262-4, Woodhouse closed on 211-7 and picked up only 12 points.

Louis Foxton (78), David Bradshaw (50), Robert Stevens (51*), and Jordan Grose (53*) had put SHB in command before Matt Durkin scored 92 not out in the Woodhouse reply.

Ripon tightened their grip on second spot with a 210 run victory over bottom of the table Wetherby but they remain 20 points behind leaders Pannal who secured a seven wicket victory over Sessay II with just two balls to spare.

Richard Till (83) scored the bulk of the Sessay runs who closed on 204-7 with Pannal’s Rob Ellis taking 3-24 in a superb all-round performance. Ellis scored an unbeaten 83 in the second innings to see his side home by the narrowest of margins.

James Skelton hit an unbeaten 85 for Duncombe Park as they asked visitors Easingwold II to challenge 175-7.

However, it was too high a target with Dan Coote bagging 4-41 and veteran Peter Kent 3-39 as Easingwold were bowled out for 119 to give Duncombe Park a 56 run win.

Hovingham (266-4) ran out winners by 219 runs in their home match against Tadcaster Magnet (47 all out).

Thirsk (202-9) hung on for a draw at home to Thorp Arch & Boston Spa after the visitors, inspired by Tom Kilby’s 70, scored 241-6.

In Galtres division three, New Earswick increased their lead at the top of the table with a comprehensive 215 run win at Tadcaster Magnet II after amassing 298-6 and then bowling out their hosts for 83. John Patrick (66), Andy Routledge (63), Arron Reid (50), and Chris Smith (30*) were among the runs for New Earswick whilst Richard Taylor (25 & 4-88) was the stand out man for the home side. In the second innings, Reid backed up his half ton with 4-20 and Martyn Hewitson grabbed 4-25.

Ollie Tanner-Smith (51) and Sean Dixon (41) steered Huby to 152-10 at Rowntrees & Huntington, who were restricted to 121-7 in the second innings to give the visitors a winning draw.

Ian Bews bagged 4-10 for Sheriff Hutton (171-10) to help his side dismiss York IV for 88 and win by 83 runs.

Andy Frank (47) and Bews (29) set the platform for the home side's total whilst Harvey Gration (4-38) and Josh Wood (4-16) were among the wickets for York.

In Galtres Division Four, Stuart Prest (91) led Hovingham II (219-6) to a substantial home win over Copmanthorpe II (53-10).

Huby II (170-8) took maximum points against Duncombe Park II (74 all out).

It was a close encounter at York Road where home side Stillington II (161-9) beat Osbaldwick II (151-10). Josh Moate and Joe Adams top scored with 30 each for Stillington. Steve Smith hit 40 for Osbaldwick but their innings was curtailed by Joe Adams (4-49) and Kit Chappell (2-11).

Matt Taylor scored 58no as New Earswick II (208-10) took the majority of the points against Sheriff Hutton II (136-8).
