ACOMB 'A' and Holgate 'A' have eked ahead on the York C&IU League Afternoon League after 2-0 wins over St Clement's 'A' and Tramways respectively.
Acomb 'B' won by one shot on the last end at Railway Institute to see their hosts drop off joint-top spot.
In the Evening League, RI beat Tramways but the 6-2 scoreline still saw them drop further behind leaders Clarence and Holgate, who both scored maximum points.
Meanwhile, Gary Bunce is on course for a hat-trick of Singles titles in the league after being handed a walkover into the semi-finals by P Jackson.
Paul Craven, one of the youngsters on the scene despite being around for some years now, is also vying for the crown, having seen off John Cooper, last year's runner-up, in the first round.
In the Four Wood Pairs, Cooper and Harry Marshall, runners-up in the last two seasons, will be hoping this is their year as they enter the semi-finals. However, they have to overcome the formidable pair of Bunce and John Stroughair.
In the Veterans' Pairs, Steve Lea, a winner last year, is through to the semi-finals alongside new partner Brian Birch, where they will meet his old adversaries Cooper and Marshall, the 2013 runners-up.
John Snowden and Mick Wox, finalists in 2014, need to get the better of Dave Preece and Mal Bulmer before they get another crack at the title.
