WILBERFOSS II still top IT Sport Mixed Tennis League division six but lost their unbeaten record to Tollerton who have gone third, closing the gap to the top two.

Josh Hunt and Ellen Strabel top scored with 26 games for Tollerton, Ben Drummond and Michelle Helm providing strong back-up.

Rufforth are one point behind the leaders after they beat David Lloyd, despite being unable to defeat Lloyd’s Adam Harvey and Lynn Kent. Andy Ivel and Denise Riley ensured Rufforth's win, finishing with 11-1.

There was no change at the top of division one as Poppleton hammered Rufforth, Nick and Rebecca Turnbull the top scorers with 33, one ahead of their mum Belinda and James Silson.

York also had a big win as opponents David Lloyd conceded 24 games due to injury.

Thirty games from Brad Swainston and Emma Loten saw Dunnington go fourth on games-difference after beating Fulford, closing in on Wigginton who beat York seconds led by Ben Walker and Eleanor Bradshaw.

Sherburn still top division two after a solid team performance against Copmanthorpe, Stephen Duree and Alison Wortley top-scoring with 26.

Second-placed Cliffe were pushed all the way by Sutton upon Derwent, securing the points thanks to Dave Tomlinson and Kate Reader winning their final rubber 10-2.

Fulford closed in on third-placed Bishopthorpe with a win at Wilberfoss. Leo Knighton and Pauline Craddock were unbeaten.

Howard Pallister and Anne Jackson won all three rubbers against Bishopthorpe as York kept top spot in division four.

David Lloyd are still second on games-difference after they played Fulford but were unable to defeat Oliver Lewis and Pauline Craddock.

Stuart Robinson and Rachel Butterworth were third-placed Wetherby Castlegarth’s match-winners after they were pushed all the way by Stillington.

Robert Rhodes and Sara Grinnell won all three rubbers for Dunnington to stay top of division seven and open a two-point gap to second-placed Heworth, who lost a close match to third-placed Cliffe, for whom John Leetham and Nikki Jackson were unbeaten.

New Earswick went top of division eight after Andy and Jean White led them to victory over Wheldrake while leaders Tollerton lost their unbeaten record to Riccall - a second-round 10-2 win by Alex Trembath and Heather Page sealing Tollerton's fate.

The following night, Tollerton lost again, by two points at Appleton Roebuck.

Bishopthorpe head the chasing pack after winning at Tadcaster, despite Brent Horner and Sandra Levitt again being unbeatable for Tad.

Dan Russel and Kate Lewis' 32 games helped division nine leaders Rufforth to another win against Dunnington V.

Fulford moved further away from the drop zone after winning at Bishopthorpe, Graham Cook and Liz Paxman shining.

Appleton Roebuck stayed in the promotion places in division ten as they overwhelmed Sutton on Derwent, led by Geoff Steel and Fiona Vicary with 32 games and Richard Barwick and Julia Campbell with 29.

The first round 11-1 win by Harry Bowden and Pat Mackellar proved the difference in Poppleton’s otherwise close match at Wilberfoss as they went third.
