YORK second team's good run continued in Fulford Ladies Invitation Tennis League division one with a 69-39 triumph over Bishopthorpe 1.

Dunnington trounced David Lloyd’s first team 87-21 to remain second, but York 1 look to be in control at the top after Louise Marshman and captain Kathryn Maude took 31 games to lead them to a 77-31 victory at Pocklington.

Fulford 1 held on to their unbeaten record in division two, battling out a hard-fought draw at Wigginton.

Cliffe finally secured their first win of the campaign, Kelly Holmes and Emma Foster teaming up to claim 27 games in victory over Pocklington 2.

Castlegarth 2 continued to keep the pressure on Fulford 2 at the top of division three.

The Wetherby team had a comfortable 74-34 win at Tollerton, while Fulford 2 had a close one, edging Rowntree Park 56-52 - captain Carolyn Taylor and Susan Scott taking ten games in the final rubber to clinch the win.

Appleton are still looking for their first victory. Despite a 28-game haul from Marilyn Almgill and Chris Howat, they lost 59-49 to Copmanthorpe 1.

Wistow went down 60-48 at Knaresborough.

David Lloyd 2 went top of division four after Bubwith’s match was postponed, thrashing Boston Spa 2 84-24 without losing a rubber.

New Earswick could only field two couples at Sutton and lost 81-27.

Poppleton seconds had a close encounter with Riccall, coming out 56-52 victors.

Top played bottom in division five where leaders Wigginton 2 had a comfortable win over Knaresborough 2.

Heworth are second after Helen Gray and Monika Harikatas racked up 27 games in their win at Cawood. Bishopthorpe 2 stayed third after a convincing 72-36 victory over Wilberfoss 1.

The top two met in division six, with David Lloyd 3 beating Fuldord 3 57-51.

Popplton 3’s Elaine Baron and Helena Kendall were undefeated in their 68-40 win over Dunnington, moving them up to third.

Copmanthorpe 3 crushed Wilberfoss 2 80-28 in division seven, Jane Jones and Juliette Weylon bagging 33 games.

Bubwith 2 got the better of table-toppers David Lloyd 4 with a 61-47 victory.
