THERE was a change at the top of the York & District Senior League Galtres division two table as Pannal went down for the first time this season - Sheriff Hutton Bridge II bowling them out for 114.

Jordan Grose took 4-30 and Ben Harrison 3-14 for the hosts, before Robert Stevens carried his bat for 36 not out as SHB won by four wickets.

Ripon (254-5) took over at the top after a close encounter at Thorp Arch & Boston Spa (252-6) with Elliot Oates hitting 64, Rob Taylor 59 and Gary Blackburn 66 not out.

They home side ended three runs short, with wickets in hand, despite the efforts of George Gibson (64), Guy Whatmore (45), Ethan Parsons (44) and Andrew Jones (39).

Skipper Mark Cook smashed 112 as Thirsk chalked up 298-4 against Hovingham, Kieron Fenwick (66), and Stu Christon (41) also among the runs.

Christon then took 3-18 and James Wilkinson 3-17 as Hovingham capitulated to 76 all out.

Wetherby (186-9) remain anchored to the foot of the table after Brian Leckenby (63) inspired home side Duncombe Park (188-4) to a six-wicket win.

Paul Grewer took 7-30 for Woodhouse Grange II as they restricted hosts Easingwold II to 170-7, Ronnie Alexander making 53 not out and Dan Copeland 52.

Grange won with three overs and three wickets to spare.

Mark Jackson was the cornerstone of Sessay II's 167 at home to Tadcaster as he hit 12 boundaries in a knock of 84, Phil Smith turning in a miserly spell of bowling of 5-9 off five overs.

Tadcaster hung on at 120-9 despite Ben Scaling's 4-32.

Stillington (219-7) remain top of Galtres division three after taking most of the points at home to York IV (153-6), Daniel Cass (80) top scoring backed up by Steve Crowder (44).

Andrew Routledge hit an unbeaten 132 as New Earswick posted 262-2 at Heworth III.

Finley Scott top-scored with 27 as the hosts were bowled out for 100, Paul Stimpson bagging 6-37.

Civil Service II were shot out for 68 as hosts Huby won by eight wickets in double-quick time.

Rowntrees & Huntington (86-4) beat Sheriff Hutton (85) by six wickets, while Kevin Wakefield (48no) saw Tadcaster Magnet II to an eight-wicket win over struggling Dringhouses II, who were all out for 96.

In Galtres division four, Hovingham II posted an impressive 221-8 declared at home to Osbaldwick, with Richard John hitting 73 and Oliver Coulthard 53.

However, Osbaldwick II chased down the target with Michael Thompson (73) smashing his way to 50 off only five overs.

Skipper David Scott hit 56 as the New Earswick II total of 183-6 proved far too much for Huby II, who were all out for 85.

The Copmanthorpe II total of 157-7 was enough to take 25 points as Stillington II had to hold on at 104-9.

Duncombe Park II won a low-scoring thriller at Sheriff Hutton II when their first innings all out total of 61 proved just enough as the home side were bowled out for 59 thanks to Will Smith’s 5-19.

York III took over at the top of Ebor division two after a nine-wicket win at home to Heworth II, who had been bowled out for 95.

Oliver Scurry scored an unbeaten 62 as York won inside 23 overs.

Previous leaders Scarborough II saw youngster Harrison Wood turn in an outstanding bowling performance, taking 8-26 as hosts Londesborough Park were all out for 170.

But it was in vain as the seasiders were bowled out for 138.

Charlie Rook had scored 48 and Lucas Stephenson 56 for Park.

Hemingbrough set visiting Yapham a reasonable target of 237 all out thanks to skipper Tom Collins' 115.

Despite Tom Connell's 57, Yapham closed at 194-7.

Pickering II’s all out 150 was enough to win at Malton & Old Malton II as Andrew Exton took 3-22 and Keiran Boyes 4-16 to skittle the hosts for 81.

Carlton Towers (224-8) beat Clifton Alliance II (122) by 102 runs as Jonathan Dilks weighed in with 97.

Dringhouses kept up the pressure on the leaders with victory at home to Acomb II.

The hosts' 203-7, Andrew Simpson (56) and Liam Hancy (55) hitting half-centuries proved too much as Acomb were all out for 129.

Ebor division three leaders Stamford Bridge II beat visiting Copmanthorpe by ten wickets, easily chasing down a target of 91.

At Pocklington II, James Pullein took 4-24 as the home side fell 13 runs short of the 189-9 posted by Cawood.

Whitkirk II totalled 174, Luke Masey making 55, and it was just enough as Dunnington were held to 171-9, Mike Millington hitting 40.

Civil Service cruised to a six-wicket win at home to Castleford II after Jim Reynolds had set them on their way with 78. The visitors had been dismissed for 129 by John Thornton (5-46) and Tom Brown (3-33).

Ebor division four leaders North Duffield fell to 105 and were beaten by five wickets at Bolton Percy, for whom Mike Furze made 38 and Karl Martin 17 not out to see them home.

Dale Gibson (39no) carried his bat throughout Thorp Arch & Boston Spa II’s innings, but their 135-6 was not enough as Luke Edwards (61) inspired Drax to a six-wicket win.

Harry Torn (61) and John Torn (68) saw Carlton Towers II chalk up 252-9 at Cawood II, which was more than enough as Jake Dawson (5-15) helped shoot out the home side for 90.

Heworth IV were bowled out for 116 at Woodhouse Grange IV, Michael Gilbank taking 3-22 and former York man Neil Reader 4-30. Opener Matthew Ainley was unbeaten on 63 as the home side won by six wickets.

The game was a great credit to the two clubs who had both turned out four teams on a day when other games were conceded due mainly to football matches and horse racing.
