EASINGWOLD, who hold a six-point lead at the top of the Hunters York & District Senior Premier League, have a chance to extend it further on a trip to Driffield Town Seconds tomorrow.

Batsmen Mark Mierzinski (54) and Steve Piercy (48) were creating some fireworks for Easingwold at Bolton Percy last week when the match fizzled out and was abandoned because of rain.

Easingwold have yet to lose a match with over a quarter of the season gone.

They will hope to get things going again on a second successive away trip at fifth-placed Driffield, who were rescued from a perilous position by the weather in their last match.

Clifton Alliance, in second with the same points as third-placed Studley Royal, entertain Hull Zingari, who are at the opposite end of the table. Alliance appear to have no trouble constructing an innings but need to bowl teams out to earn the big points hauls.

Eighth-placed Pickering welcome Bolton Percy, the team just below them. Both will have York Seconds in their sights in seventh place. The Clifton Park side entertain Beverley Town, who are just above them in sixth.

Bottom of the table Heworth will be looking to get their season going when they entertain Goole, who are just two places above them in tenth.

Malton & Norton, who occupy seventh place in the Senior League division one, face a tough test at fourth-placed Hornsea.

In an all-York clash at the wrong end of the table, Osbaldwick host bottom side Pocklington, who are seeking their first win after losing to top side Whitkirk last weekend.

Eighth-placed Selby have a tough task against second-placed Harrogate.
