SHERIFF Hutton Bridge have well and truly made their mark in the Hunters Yorkshire Premier League North.

The Moor Farm side are up to second, behind new leaders Hull, thanks to some consistent performances in their four starts this season.

Sam Anthony starred with an unbeaten 106, striking 14 fours last week, in a winning draw at Driffield where he had support from those around him.

Now Bridge are looking for the same team effort again allied to a cutting edge in their bowling attack when they meet Acomb.

The visitors are seeking to bounce back from a four-wicket defeat at Yorkshire Academy last weekend when New Zealander Brendan Weal top scored with 52.

Third-placed Stamford Bridge are another team in good early-season form and will be aiming to keep up the momentum when they travel to Driffield.

Donovan Sinclair and Luke Robinson shared the bowling honours and will no doubt prove a threat to Driffield who are sixth.

A defeat at home to Hull last Saturday saw York to slide from first to fourth, so they will be determined to claw their way back up the table.

Dan Woods' side travel to Scarborough where the home side have not been in the best of form. York's batsmen will need to show their mettle after the lack-lustre display against Hull.

National Village champions Woodhouse Grange make a first visit to the Yorkshire Academy in Leeds. After a first win two weeks ago they slumped again last week against Castleford and tenth.

Bottom team Dunnington bid to kick-start their season when Castleford are the visitors to the Pryers Solicitors ground. Dunnington will be keen to avenge a Yorkshire League Cup defeat by Castleford earlier in the season.

Easingwold will be keen to consolidate their position at the top of the Hunters York and District Senior League when they visit Bolton Percy.

A seven-wicket win over York Seconds saw the Back Lane side knock early pacesetters Clifton Alliance off top spot.

Percy will be no pushovers though with Tom Atkinson starring with bat and ball in their impressive 128-run win at home to Hull Zingari.

Alliance will have bottom side Heworth in their sights at Shipton Road.

Second-placed Sessay entertain Driffield while Pickering head to Beverley and York Seconds entertain Goole Town.

The pick of the matches in Division One features leaders Whitkirk against third-placed Patrington. Malton and Old Malton head to second bottom Pocklington while Selby entertain Folkton and Flixton.
