SHERIFF Hutton Bridge will be aiming to continue their promising start in the Hunters Yorkshire Premier League North when they head to the seaside to meet Scarborough tomorrow.

Mark Fisher is proving influential for Sheriff with bat and ball, and with support from Samuel Anthony they were in a good position against Woodhouse Grange last weekend when the weather intervened. It leaves them third behind York and Hull.

Woodhouse have barely had the chance to get into their stride because of the weather, and after three matches are just above the bottom two.

Michael Hattee appeared to be settling in with a useful 65 last week but it counted for little. They will be aiming to secure their first positive result of the season when they entertain Dunnington, who are yet to get off the mark this season.

Stamford Bridge and York were rained off last weekend, but leaders York will be aiming to get back to winning ways on a trip to Castleford, who are second bottom and without a win so far.

Bridge are seeking a second win of the season when they entertain the Yorkshire Academy youngsters, who claimed the lion's share of the points from a draw last weekend.

James Logan looks to be a bowler in form, taking 4-10 from five overs last weekend for Yorkshire.

Acomb, like most teams, have had a stuttering start to the season because of the weather, but will hope to heat up their season when second-placed Hull are the visitors to The Green.

Joe Dale was the pick of the Acomb batsmen last week, falling seven short of a half-century. Tom Neal's 4-38 from 11 overs also bodes well.

Pick of the day in the Hunters York and District Senior League premier division is a top of the table contest as second-placed Studley Royal entertain Clifton Alliance.

Something will have to give tomorrow as they have matching records. Top performer last weekend was Alliance's Dominic Snook, who claimed a remarkable 4-9 from three overs against Driffield Seconds.

Easingwold, in third, are poised to pounce on any slip ups above them as they host fifth-placed Beverley Town. Easingwold impressed against Goole Town in their last match, with Mark Mierzwinski top scoring with 66.

The bottom two clubs, Heworth and Bolton Percy, meet tomorrow and both are seeking a first win of the season. Pickering entertain Sessay, and York Seconds are at Hull Zingari.

In division one, Selby entertain Patrington, while Malton and Norton have a tough task at home to leaders Harrogate Town.

Pocklington travel to Beverley Town, while Folkton and Flixton are at Hornsea.
