YORK CC and new ECB Yorkshire Premier League North rivals Sheriff Hutton Bridge set up a mouthwatering derby in the Royal London Club Championship by both easing through the first round.

York enjoyed a 130-run victory at North East Premier League side Brandon, after Joe Ashdown made 76 - his highest score since joining the club - and Alex Collins 45 in a total of 232-9.

Tom Pringle then completed a ten-wicket haul for the weekend by adding 6-15 to the four collected in the Yorkshire League North clash against Woodhouse Grange.

Included in those six was the wicket of former Yorkshire player Moin Ashraf as the home side were all out for 102.

Sheriff Hutton Bridge will host their rivals York in a fortnight's time after seeing off Benwell Hill.

Ed Barnes made 82 in SHB's total of 256 before Benwell Hill were dismissed for just 96.

Dunnington put their early league form to one side to produce an excellent victory over Stockton by 73 runs.

Opener Tom Loten (88) and skipper Jack Bolam (46) shared a second-wicket partnership of 102 as the home side reached 252-7.

In reply, Stockton were all out for 179, Harwood Williams (3-23) the pick of the bowlers, with two wickets each for Joshua Barrett (2-21) and Dave Brent (2-25).

They face a trip to South Northumberland, victors over Driffield Town by 53 runs, in a fortnight’s time.

In another part of the draw, Harrogate visited Yorkshire Premier League South side Wakefield Thornes and emerged victorious by 70 runs to earn a home tie in round two against South Yorkshire League side Elsecar.

Andy Hawkswell (72) top scored as the away side were bowled out for 245 inside 40 overs, but three wickets from Harry Stow (3-51) and a brace each for Tom Geeson-Brown (2-20) and Ashley Griffin (2-31) produced a comfortable victory.
