RUTH NORMAN gamed in 24 darts as Tramways ‘A’ edged visitors Severus ‘B’ in the opening game of the new York John Smith’s Ladies Darts League division one campaign.

Norman included scores of 134 and 100, and, with Jan Wilberham, Carole Layne and Sue Lowery adding to her point, helped Tramways Norman race 4-2 up.

Michelle Kelly and Sharon Mountain got the replies, and Sev then levelled in the pairs through Mountain-Jeanette Stewart and Angie Kaya-Kelly.

The final pairing of Layne-Karen Alton snatched victory back for Tramways.

Champions Fulfordgate beat Edinburgh, after Amanda Bevan had won the opener for the visitors.

Cara Britton kickstarted a winning surge and Jill Reed sealed match points, with Gate adding two wins in the three pairs before Donna Lynes-Julie Stables doubled Edinburgh's points.

In-form Tracey Farmeary, daughter Natalie, Bev Harton and Tina Platt put Tramways ‘B’ 4-2 up against Burnholme, for whom captain Marj Pearson and Sharon Neads replied.

Harton-Platt sealed victory in the first pairs, before Holme took the remaining points.

Castle Howard Ox ‘B’ had victory secured before the pairs, Jubilee's Maggie Bedingham denying them a full house.

Division two newcomers Priory had a resounding win at Burton Stone with Babs Harrison, Sophie Simpson, Di Moreland and Becky Thompson all successful in the singles.

Linda Embleton and Sheila Harrison replied but the visitors cleared up in the pairs.

Nags Head also won 7-2 as Ann Parkyn, Hannah Smith, Doreen Johnston and Vicky Sellers shot them clear against Clifton.

Cris and mother Alice Turgoose replied but Nags won all the pairs.

Davina Shannon won the opener for Severus ‘A’ but Laura Gatenby, Roz Hairsine, Rose Gray and Kate Rankeillor put visitors Clockhouse clear.

Sue Clark narrowed the gap then partnered Jackie Simpson to narrow it further before Rankeillor-Gatenby sealed match points.

Saddle's final pairing of Chris Patterson-Sharon Nelson snatched victory at Green Tree, while Nella Majsterek-Wendy Sullivan won the decider for Ox ‘A’ at home to Leeman, whose Margaret Yeomans shone.
