NEWLY-CROWNED world BDO champion Scott Waites will play two matches at tomorrow night's YDP Flood Appeal Darts Exhibition.

Waites, who defeated Jeff Smith 7-1 to lift the Lakeside crown earlier this month, will take on Yorkshire county ace Martin Atkins and later team up with BDO world number one Glen Durrant to take on local amateurs John Pickering and Stuart Limbert - the regional winners of the tournament to open the evening's action at the Holiday Inn on Tadcaster Road.

Other top darts players taking part in the evening, which starts at 7.30pm, are this year's PDC World Championship quarter-finalist Alan Norris, three-time Lakeside World Championship runner-up Tony O'Shea, two-time semi-finalist Darryl Fitton, ex-World Darts Trophy winner Gary Robson, BDO top-ten player Jim Williams and women's world number one Deta Hedman.

There will also be a Youth v Experience clash between top York players Chris Quantock and Richie Corner.

The night will end, meanwhile, with entertainment from two competitors of BBC's The Voice talent contest - Hull's Ryan Willingham from this year's series and York's 2014 hopeful Beth McCarthy.

Despite the event being a sell-out, further tickets could be released on the day after the stage has set up and, anybody interested in attending, should contact Neil Hart at www.facebook.com/neil.hart.9 or by calling 07921 128063.

The event is being sponsored by Streamline Taxis, Huckleberry's American Diner, Elizabeth Robinson and Hart of York Executive and Luxury Travel, who are offering a special deal this month to raise further funds for the flood appeal.

Anybody booking transport from the company before the end of February for a wedding or airport/seaport transfer for any time during 2016 will receive a ten per cent discount.

That money will then be donated to the fund and reservations can be made by contacting Hart by email at hartofyork@gmail.com or by calling 07921 128063 or 01904 338814.

A raffle will also be held on the night with possible donated prizes still welcomed for that or a Flood Appeal Auction Facebook page, which will run until the end of February.

Hart can again be contacted by the above means for anybody able to help.
