HUNTINGTON Rovers moved four points clear at the top of the York Minster Engineering League Premier division following a 4-1 triumph at F1 Racing.

Rovers dominated the opening half hour but missed a number of opportunities to take the lead, although F1 were also not without chances on the break.

After a goalless first period, Chris Dyson put the away side into the lead on 55 minutes - carrying out the damage with an excellent 25-yard chip.

F1 equalised ten minutes later when great work from Jonah Tomlin-Kent forced an own goal.

An even period of play was broken in the 85th minute when Dyson scored his second before Rovers immediately added a third, Steve Harman poking home a Dyson shot to make it 3-1.

Dyson rounded off his hat-trick with another exquisite chip, allowing Huntington to start to draw clear of the chasing pack.

Brooklyn’s Mikey Brown scored his 13th league goal of the season but his side were beaten 2-1 at home by York RI, Leigh Dutton and Danny Gray scoring for the visitors.

Thorpe United maintained their 100 per cent record in division two with a 4-2 victory at home to bottom club Fulford FC United. Andrew Wilson fired a brace with Thomas Murden and Martin Howson also on target.

Two games in division four took place and both of the undefeated teams in the league held onto their records.

Heworth Green took their record to 11 wins out of 11 with a convincing 7-1 defeat of Malt Shovel. John Moore, Jericho Keys, Calum MacKenzie, Freddie Robinson (2) and Dan Marshall (2) found the net.

The Raj also continued their run without a league defeat, a Dan Hunter hat-trick and an Arron Rose goal giving them a 4-2 success over Settrington.

Huntington won 3-0 at Thorpe United in the only game to be played in Reserve 'A'. Pete Laidlaw scored the only goal of the first half, placing a delicate lob into the top corner. Laidlaw then added a second before Ash Hill rounded off the scoring with a superb 25-yard strike.

League leaders Malton and Norton got the better of an end-to-end game in Reserve 'B'.

Kingsley Daffern got on the end of an Adam Cook cross to give the home side a 1-0 half-time lead before Easingwold levelled the game shortly after the break. Despite further chances at both ends, only Cook could find the net as Malton and Norton won 2-1.

Brooklyn gained a 2-1 success over Pocklington Town to move into third place behind their local rivals and Tockwith. George Pierson and Matty Bean struck for the visitors.

Civil Service moved back to the top of Reserve 'C' following an 8-1 demolition of Malt Shovel.

Service had led 4-0 at the break and only conceded late on when their opposition netted from the penalty spot.

Jason Hogg bagged a hat-trick for the home side, with James Shaw, Lucas Owen, Mark Lund (pen), Declan Richardson and Joe Hamilton also making the score sheet.

Third-placed F1 Racing won 4-1 at Fulford. George Cooper (2), George Waterson and Chris Helm were on target for the victors.
