PICKERING TOWN and Maltby Main fought out a six goal thriller in the Northern Counties East League premier division at the Recreation Ground.

The times the home side had the lead at Mill Lane but, on each occasion, Maltby found a way to get back into the game and foil their victory hopes.

Ged Dalton gave manager Paul Marshall's men a tenth minute lead but Joshua Nodder levelled for Maltby in the 34th minute.

The visitors held parity, though, for only a minute as Pickering surged forward and retook the lead with another Dalton goal.

Nodder had his say once more and equalised for Maltby three minutes before the break.

A wonderful strike from Lewis Taylor, 19 minutes into the second period, put the home side back in front and looked to have earned them all three points.

But Steve Hopewell secured a draw for Maltby with five minutes remaining.

The point leaves Pickering in 11th place in the table.

Tadcaster Albion's premier division clash with Clipstone was postponed and has been rescheduled for January 19 while, in NCEL division one, Knaresborough Town put five past Rossington Main.

George Eustance gave the home side the lead in the 14th minute and Town went nuts after the game passed the hour mark.

Ben Clayton doubled Knaresborough's advantage in the 61st minute and it was three when Ben Parkes got in on the act 20 minutes from the end.

A Joel Freeston penalty extended the lead further and, two minutes from time, Eustance grabbed his brace.

Harrogate Railway's Evo-Stik first division north clash with Ossett Town didn't last past half time.

The game was abandoned at the break after the Station Road pitch became waterlogged following heavy downpours.

Rail were cruising at the time, having gone into a 3-0 lead. George Mason opened the scoring in the first minute and Lawrance Hunter made it two from the spot.

Even after Dann Barrett was shown a red card for violent conduct, the ten men still dominated and added a third goal through Jack Stockdill's header.

But referee David Storrie decided that the playing surface was too boggy to start the second half.

Scarborough Athletic alao fell victim to the weather. Their game at Witton Albion was postponed because of a waterlogged pitch.

Harrogate Town crashed out of the FA Trophy as Curzon Ashton took a 1-0 win away from Wetherby Road.

In desperate weather, Ashton won the game in the tenth minute through Jordan Wright.

A great save rebounded to the arriving Wright, who fired home from 25 yards.
