MALCOLM Jefferson can complete a treble at Sedgefield today, with the Norton trainer fancied to score with Ryedale Racer, Retrieve The Stick and Storm Forecast.

Malton-based Jamie Hamilton has the mount on RYEDALE RACER in the Betfred TV Condtional Jockeys' Novices' Hurdle.

The gelding, winner of a bumper at Hexham in May, returned to the same course for his hurdling bow recently and was narrowly denied by Delusionofgrandeur, who beat him by a head in a thrilling finish.

Ryedale Racer should have benefited from that outing, in both fitness and experience, and is napped to go one better here.

RETRIEVE THE STICK lines up in the Betfred Lotto Novices' Handicap Chase.

The six-year-old has finished in the money in both her chasing runs to date – finishing second at Ayr and third at Carlisle, where the heavy ground may have found her out.

She has top weight to carry here, which presents her with a challenge, but she is the best horse in the field and is expected to take plenty of beating under Brian Hughes.

Hughes will also be aboard STORM FORECAST in the Betfred Mobile National Hunt Flat Race. The four-year-old showed promise when finishing fourth at Hexham on his racecourse debut, a performance which is likely to stand him in good stead this time.

Trainer Jim Dreaper, who has made the journey from Ireland, can be rewarded with a double on the Sedgefield card.

He saddles CERCA TROVA in the Betfred Handicap Chase. A winner over hurdles at Downpatrick in August, he has since finished runner-up in a handicap chase on the same course.

This is not a race that may take much winning and it would be no surprise to see him take advantage.

CAMILLAS WISH can also score for Dreaper in the Betfred Racing Handicap Chase. Runner-up to Teochew in a similar race on this course last time out, the six-year-old mare may not need to improve much to go one better.

At Southwell, GOOD TRIP is fancied to make it two from two in the 32Red Novice Stakes.

The Godolphin juvenile made a winning start to his career at Nottingham last month, taking time for the penny to drop but staying on strongly in the closing stages to get on top near the finish.

He is open to plenty of further improvement and, as long as he adapts to this slower Fibresand surface, he should be a tough nut to crack.

Serena Brotherton takes the mount on PEACE LILLY, trained by Michael Appleby, in the opening Ladbrokes Amateur Riders' Handicap.

Anything the experienced Brotherton, a prolific winner, is booked for in these races usually catches the eye and Peace Lilly's recent runner-up effort behind Noblest on this course suggests she is not without a chance, especially as this extra furlong may suit her better.

FRIVOLOUS LADY promises to be hard to beat in the 32Red Casino Claiming Stakes.

David Evans' lightly-raced juvenile won a Salisbury maiden in the spring. She has since been conspicuous by her absence but, if she is anything like the same form on her return to the fray, she should be good enough to prevail under John Egan.

Also worthy of note on the eight-race card are PULL THE PIN (3.10), narrowly denied at Chelmsford on his latest start, and AIR OF YORK (3.40), a previous course winner.
