PAUL Nicholls, who saddles Silviniaco Conti in the featured Betfair Chase at Haydock tomorrow, can get in the winning groove at the Lancashire course this afternoon by completing a double with Solar Impulse and Silsol.

The Money Advice Group Graduation Chase is the target for Solar Impulse, a Wetherby winner over fences last season, who went on to show solid form including being placed in Grade 2 company.

The sort of horse to make further progress this season as a chaser, Solar Impulse can land this two-miler before going on to better things.

Silsol, who lines-up in the Betfair Home of The Price Rush Novices' Chase, won at Carlisle on his latest start 11 days ago.

That was a useful performance in a competitive race and Silsol is fancied to follow-up in this £25,000 contest, provided this race does not come too quickly.

Welsh Shadow gets the vote in the Betfair Tap Tap Boom Novices' Hurdle.

Dan Skelton's gelding won a Wetherby bumper on his only outing last season and shaped well to finish second to the well-regarded Yanworth on his hurdles debut at Exeter last month. The runner-up that day, Barney Dwan, won at Market Rasen yesterday to frank the form.

Welsh Shadow looks a decent prospect in the making and carries the nap to break his duck over hurdles.

Norton trainer Brian Ellison bids for a hat-trick of wins with Oscar Blue in the Money Advice Group Handicap Hurdle.

The five-year-old has won his last two starts at Hexham and Kelso and is now into handicap company for the first time. He looks reasonably treated off a mark of 125 and although this looks a competitive affair, Oscar Blue should go well under Danny Cook.

Sue Smith, among the winners at Market Rasen yesterday, can figure on the Haydock scoreboard with Vintage Clouds in the Wingate Signs Supports & Superjosh Charity Novices' Hurdle.

A bumper winner last season, Vintage Clouds made a solid reappearance on his hurdling debut when finishing second to At The Doubble. He has the scope to do better and is fancied to come out on top this time.

At Ascot, the £25,000 Winkworth Handicap Chase looks a good opportunity for Squire Trelawney to follow-up his winning reappearance at Wincanton last month.

Dan Skelton's charge, who had missed the whole of last season, has been raised 6lb for that success and comes into this race at the foot of the handicap. He can make the most of his featherweight against another recent winner Back To Bracken.

Trainer Harry Fry can complete a double in the opening two races with He's A Charmer and Thomas Brown.

The Iron Stand Beginners' Chase, won last year by the useful Puffin Billy, is the target for Thomas Brown, who elevated his hurdling mark to a lofty 140-plus last season after wins at Cheltenham and Exeter. He looks an exciting prospect now going over fences and he ought to give Noel Fehily a good ride.

He's A Charmer makes his jumping debut in the Geotech Soil Stabilisation Maiden Hurdle.

The five-year-old has finished placed in both his bumper starts, most recently on this course last month. He ticks all the right boxes as a potentially useful hurdling candidate.

Also worth noting at Ascot is Kilcrea Vale in the Robert Giles Agencies Introductory Hurdle.

Trained by Nicky Henderson, this former point-to-point winner scored by no less than 26 lengths in his only previous hurdle start at Market Rasen last season. He promises to be a tough nut to crack under Jerry McGrath.
