MANAGERLESS Doncaster Rovers will arrive at York City for tonight's Johnstone's Paint Trophy second-round tie having failed to win an away game since April.

The Keepmoat Stadium club have taken just one Sky Bet League One point from a possible 21 on the road in that time and only scored their first away goal of the season during their last outing - a 3-1 defeat at Sheffield United in which Cameron Stewart scored - ending a six-hour-and-25-minute wait for Rovers travelling fans to celebrate their team hitting the back of the net.

That travel-sickness contributed to the departure of former Oldham boss Paul Dickov with Rovers currently lying fourth bottom in the table.

Centre-back Rob Jones has been placed in temporary charge but there is a good chance that Dickov's permanent successor could be at Bootham Crescent this evening with ex-Birmingham, Huddersfield and Blackpool boss Lee Clark and former Peterborough chief Darren Ferguson having emerged as the bookmaker's favourites for the vacancy.

Doncaster will be forced into at least one change from the side that enjoyed a 2-1 victory over South Yorkshire neighbours Barnsley at the weekend with defender Luke McCullough having joined up with Northern Ireland's squad for their crucial Euro 2016 qualifiers against Greece and Finland.

Either Aaron Taylor-Sinclair or Paul McKay will deputise with one-time Bradford and Blackpool centre-back Gary MacKenzie serving the final game of a three-match ban for his sending off against Sheffield United.

Rovers will also be without injured strikers Nathan Tyson and Curtis Main, who both have hamstring injuries, as well as right-back Mitchell Lund (hip).

Doncaster won the Johnstone's Paint Trophy in 2007, beating Bristol Rovers at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium.

This season, they knocked out Burton 5-3 on penalties after a 0-0 draw during normal time.

On-loan Crystal Palace striker Keshi Anderson is the club's top scorer this season.

The 20-year-old has netted twice having made three appearances since his switch from the Selhurst Park outfit.

Rovers' record of nine goals in 11 fixtures is the joint-lowest in League One.

Doncaster (probable): Stuckmann, Evina, McKay, Butler, Horsfield, Coppinger, Chaplow, Wellens, N'Guessan, Williams, Anderson.
