JACK Garritty, pursuing the apprentice championship, heads to Scotland today with good chances of adding a valuable two winners to his tally at Hamilton.

The Malton rider, who has enjoyed a memorable summer, is fancied to score on Liberty Sky and First To Post, both trained by his boss Richard Fahey.

The £20,000 Highland Spring Water Hamilton Park 2-Y-O Series Nursery Final is the target for FIRST TO POST, who opened his winning account in workmanlike fashion at Carlisle last time out.

That was his first run since May, so he's a horse who is still fairly lightly-raced and unexposed as we get into the autumn.

Farkle Minkus, an impressive winner at Ayr six weeks ago, represents one of the dangers to First To Post but the the Malton youngster may just have the edge.

LIBERTY SKY runs in the 'Because It Matters' Handicap and is seeking to step up on her recent second-placed effort at Ayr. There looks to be a small race or two in Liberty Sky, who may find opportunity knocking here.

Emily Easterby, teenage daughter of Great Habton trainer Tim, rides for her father aboard WHITE FLAG in the Compensate Personal Injury Network Amateur Riders Handicap.

Emily has ridden this filly the last twice she has run and finished second on her at Carlisle a fortnight ago. It would be no surprise to see the combination go one better this time.

Also worth noting at Hamilton are David O'Meara's Haydock winner SALLABEH (2.50) and ADELE (4.30), who represents Mark Johnston in a race the Middleham trainer sponsors. His chosen runner is surely a tip in itself.

The feature race at Goodwood is the £25,000 Peter Willett Conditions Stakes, a three-runner affair over seven furlong.

Pick of this trio might well be BOBBY WHEELER, who has something to find on form with Palawan but who looks a horse with an exciting future.

Clive Cox's charge won well at Salisbury on his latest start, after showing plenty of promise on his debut. He looks sure to improve with racing and is fancied to get the better of Palawan and the dual-winner Essenaitch.

The £20,000 Royal Sussex Regiment Handicap offers RHOMBUS the chance to follow up his recent win at Nottingham. That was a slender success but the good news is that Rhombus is now only 3lb higher.

LIGHTNING CHARLIE makes appeal in the Clancy Docwra Charity Handicap. Trained locally by Amanda Perrett, the three-year-old has been running well lately and is capable of making a a bold bid in the hands of Jim Crowley.

The promising LIGHTSOME (2.10) and Mark Johnston's DAWAA (3.15) are also worth noting.

Dawaa was a fluent winner at Nottingham last time and looks the type to win again for a stable which remains in fine form and which yesterday sent out the winner of the Champion Two-Year-Old Trophy at Ripon in Whitman.
