F1 RACING maintained their 100 per cent start to their York Minster Engineering League Premier division campaign with a 4-2 victory over champions Riccall United at the Regen Centre.

The win sees them sitting in second spot, but they are the only team to still boast an unblemished record and have a game in hand on their rivals.

Danny Penrose scored early in the game to push F1 ahead, but Riccall soon equalised, only to see Penrose make it 2-1 just before the break.

Riccall started the second half in commanding fashion and equalised once again, but Ross Wilkinson carved out an opening that allowed Chris Dempsey to head home and restore F1’s lead.

A stunning Penrose volley rounded off the striker’s hat-trick and extended the away side’s lead as the champions suffered a second home loss.

Dunnington scored the division’s biggest victory for some time - demolishing Terrington Glory 14-0.

Ben Small bagged four goals in the win, with Martin Day also picking up a hat-trick. Callum Richardson, Tom Matthews, Tom Richards, Robert Chipps, Scott Sullivan and Josh Hutchinson also netted.

Old Malton St Mary's retained pole position with an 8-1 thumping of York RI. Leigh Dutton struck for RI as they suffered their first taste of defeat this season.

There were also nine goals at Harrison Signs, where the hosts went down 6-3 to Dringhouses. The away side were 3-0 up at half-time, and pressed further ahead to lead 5-0, before a resurgent Signs side made it 5-3 with Lee Dowham, Cameron Sanderson and Tom Shaw all finding the net.

However, ‘Houses regained their composure and struck again to seal the victory.

Copmanthorpe put five past Brooklyn without reply - the goal of the game being a brilliant solo run from Daniel Pedras, who later went on to bag a second. Robin Bedford, Danny Leach and Matt Pallister also made the score sheet.

Huntington Rovers took the lead against Church Fenton thanks to a superb header from Gary Mitchinson and their advantage was soon doubled when Chris Dyson slotted home after a great move which saw most of the Rovers team involved.

A headed goal from James Edmond early in the second period put the result beyond doubt, though Fenton did enjoy a late rally and scored a late consolation in a 3-1 loss.

Tadcaster Magnets took a sixth minute lead at Wigginton through Joe Smyth before Gary Newton rifled home to level the scores quarter of an hour later.

Magnets then applied heavy pressure to the Grasshoppers’ goal and were rewarded, following a series of errors, when Scott Collins pounced on a stray ball to make it 2-1.

Despite Tadcaster's efforts, Wigginton went in level at the break, Tom Derbyshire firing in an unstoppable shot. A Luke Roberts’ penalty sealed a 3-2 victory for Wiggy following a more dominant performance from the home team in the second period.
