CHAMPIONS Sessay were bundled out for only 70 in Hunters York & District Senior Cricket League division one.

Ben Lamb took six wickets for 15 runs as they were bowled out cheaply at Goole Town, Mark Wilkie's 33 being nearly half his side's total.

That came in reply to Goole's 165-8, which included 70 from Oscar Sugden, while Dave Johnson took 4-51. A run of four straight wins has now seen Goole re-enter the promotion race.

Pickering, though, look the most likely to join Sessay in the top flight.

They recorded back-to-back wins for the first time, to maintain their advantage in second, as they saw off Whitkirk at home by five-wickets.

David Tubby scored a half-century for the second week in a row but 5-37 from Tom Whincup saw the visitors dismissed for 178. Michael Brown (52) then set Pickering on their way before David Greenlay (69no) and Mark Shepherd (26no) saw them over the line.

Tom Atkinson produced the day's best batting performance with an unbeaten 116, and 51 from Ed Noble helped Bolton Percy to reach 239-8 against Malton & Old Malton.

Morgan Fraser and Thomas Bumby both made 35 but none of the Malton batsmen were able to match Atkinson’s effort and they lost by 73 runs. Jon Anderson was the pick of the Bolton Percy attack, finishing with 3-54.

At Osbaldwick, visitors Driffield Town won by a single wicket.

Despite a promising start in which Jonny Rawsthorne made 46 and Matt Dunne 26, the home side collapsed to 115 all out - seven of their batsmen failing to reach double figures as Johnny Anderson picked up 4-18.

He also played a vital role with the bat, finishing unbeaten on 28, to secure victory after David Jenkinson (41) had set Driffield on their way.

Rawsthorne (3-24) and Ben Richardson (3-20) both picked up three wickets but neither were able to dislodge Driffield Town's final pair in an enthralling finish.

Bridlington kept up the pressure on the top four thanks to a comfortable seven-wicket win at home to Sewerby.

Lewis Beasley (40) top scored for the visitors but Nick Tennant’s sixth half-century of the season and 39 from Richard Lount allowed Bridlington to reach their winning score of 133-3 without too many alarms.

Two sides without a victory in August prior met at Filey Road, and it was hosts Folkton & Flixton who ended their drought when beating Beverley Town by 60 runs.

Anthony Stones (63) and Nick Zakrzewski (48) helped the home side post a total of 242 and, despite 77 from Tom Hudson, Beverley failed to get close thanks largely to the efforts of Harry Walmsley (5-46).
