PREMIER League Swansea are set to field a £21million reserve side against York City for tonight's Capital One Cup second round clash.

The Welsh club are expected to make 11 changes from Saturday's 1-1 draw at Sunderland with Manchester United the next visitors to the Liberty Stadium on Sunday following this evening's tie.

But manager Garry Monk is still expected to include three full internationals - Ki Sun-Yueng, Eder and Kristoffer Nordfeldt- in his starting XI.

Those three players alone cost the Swans a cool £11.6million in combined transfer fees with last season's Player of the Year Sun-Yeung due to get a run-out following an opening day hamstring strain picked up during the 2-2 draw at Chelsea.

Midfielder Sun-Yeung has scored five goals and played 74 times for South Korea, including in the 2010 and 2014 World Cup finals.

Striker Eder, who also played in the last World Cup and has been capped 18 times by Portugal, is set to make his first start, following a £5million move from Braga, where he scored 26 goals in 60 top-flight matches.

Nordfeldt, meanwhile, who is a five-time Swedish international, is expected to replace ex-Arsenal shot-stopper Lucasz Fabianski in goal.

Other notable likely inclusions are wingers Nathan Dyer and Wayne Routledge, who will flank Eder in a three-pronged attack that will be missing leading marksman Bafetimbi Gomis, who has netted in all three of Swansea's opening matches.

Andre Ayew, who has claimed the hosts' other two goals this term, is also due to sit this one out, along with the likes of Ecuador ace Jefferson Montero, Argentinian defender Federico Fernandez and England's Jonjo Shelvey as Monk enjoys the luxury of a fully-fit squad to choose from.

City will visit the Liberty Stadium hoping to become only the fourth visiting team - after Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea - to win there in 2015.

The Swans, who lifted the trophy in 2013, also haven't lost a home tie in the competition for six years when Monk was one of three host players sent off in a 2-1 extra-time defeat to Scunthorpe.

He is now expecting whatever players he selects to stake their case for regular selection, saying: "There’ll be changes and chances for some to make a mark and give me a nudge. Whoever’s involved will give 100 per cent I can promise you that."

Swansea (probable): Nordfeldt, Rangel, Bartley, Amat, Tabanou, Britton, Grimes, Sun-Yeung, Dyer, Eder, Routledge.
