Andy Holmes and Elaine Hilton won their middle rubber 11-1 against Fulford to seal the win for David Lloyd and won by the same scoreline to relegate Bishopthorpe.

Nils Morozs and Vanessa Kennedy top scored in the last two wins for Rowntree Park against Bishopthorpe and Poppleton to keep them away from relegation but a strong Rufforth side led by James Edmond and Christine Place, who needed the win to be promoted, took the points.

Wilberfoss gained promotion from division four as runners-up on games difference.

Cliffe will be relegated from division three on games difference and Wetherby Castlegarth have won division five.

They only just kept their record intact with a two game win against Cawood. The latter, after seeing off fellow relegation candidates Sutton upon Derwent, now have to wait for the final matches to be played after Andy Smith and Jill King kept Wigginton’s hopes alive with a win at Fulford.

David Lloyd made it a double for the club as the third team won division seven. They beat Wistow in their final match with a fine 29 games from Nick Pears and Maxine Gordon.

Dunnington finished with a two game win against Bubwith but lost out on the second promotion spot to New Earswick, who won both final matches inspired by unbeaten Ant Georgiou and Lynne Stables.

Cliffe came runners-up in division eight after beating Tollerton but Heworth grabbed the silverware after coming so close over the last five years.

Dunnington were crowned division ten champions with a win against Appleton Roebuck.

The runners-up spot is still to be decided. Wiberfoss are waiting for Bishopthorpe to play their re-arranged matches to see who will be promoted after Dan Jacques and Maxine Bailey ended with the week’s top score of 33 games against Rufforth. Dave and Linda Moore kept Bishopthorpe on track with a fine 26 games.
