DANNY Tudhope, back in top form since missing the height of the summer with a broken bone in his hand, looks set to take the feature race at Pontefract this afternoon.

David O'Meara's stable jockey joins forces with Newmarket trainer Luca Cumani aboard nap selection PENHILL in the £15,000 tiesplanet.com-Ladies Love Guys In Ties Handicap.

Trained last season at Middleham by James Bethell before changing hands for a whopping 230,000 guineas at the Horses in Training Sales last October, Penhill made a winning start to this term at Ascot in May.

He has since come up short in two starts, most recently when finishing fourth in the Old Newton Cup at Haydock. This race, however, represents less of a challenge for the four-year-old, despite him having to carry top weight of 10st.

A strong galloping gelding, Penhill can clinch this mile-and-a-half handicap and set himself up for a productive second half of the season.

Micky Hammond can draw first blood at Pontefract with CORREGIO in the Richard Kendall Estate Agents Gentleman Amatuer Riders' Handicap.

The five-year-old has won two of his last three starts, at York in June and most recently over this course and distance when he scored by six lengths from San Cassiano.

He has gone up 6lb for that success, which is more than fair, and he is fancied to oblige again this afternoon.

Richard Fahey continues to fire in plenty of winners and the Malton trainer, who had a treble on Monday, can hit the target with SUNNUA in the Friends Of Francis Hamilton Memorial Maiden Stakes.

Tony Hamilton's mount finished placed on her first two outings and was beaten less than six lengths by stablemate Lathom in the valuable Weatherbys Super Sprint at Wetherby on her latest appearance. This drop back into maiden company gives her a solid chance.

Tim Easterby's horses are in good form and ANOTHER ROYAL deserves attention in the Chaplins Club Handicap over five furlongs.

David Allan's mount was winner over this course and distance in June. She has since run creditably over six furlongs at Catterick and York. This return to the minimum trip should suit Another Royal.

Easterby can also strike at Newcastle with PACNGO in the Straightline Construction Handicap over five furlongs.

The three-year-old finally came good in an apprentices' race at Thirsk 12 days ago and, with Rachel Richardson claiming a valuable 5lb, she can follow up.

GOWANHARRY is overdue a winning turn and opportunity may come knocking for Michael Dods' gelding in the ESH Group Handicap.

The six-year-old has finished runner-up at Ayr on his last two starts, beaten only by half-a-length and a neck. Gowanharry has winning form over this course and distance and he can add to his tally under Andrew Mullen.

TAFFETTA, trained at Norton by Tony Coyle, is the choice in the Marriott Gosforth Park Fillies' Handicap.

A winner at Beverley early in the summer, Taffetta has run some respectable races in defeat since. She is entitled to another visit to the top enclosure. Barry McHugh has the mount.

Also worth noting at Newcastle are the promising THE MAJOR (5.20) and recent Hamilton winner CADMIUM (6.50).
