MARK PROSSER and Chris Klay took first prize but Marie Curie were the real winners on Captain's Day at Sandburn Hall Golf Club.
The duo shot 49 points on a testing day which saw only five scores under par at the Flaxton-based course but which raised nearly £600 for the charity's efforts.
Captain Darren Lefevre teamed up with Matt Dalton, of Cooper Mini York, and Joe Dawson, of Cooper BMW York, to provide a BMW and Mini for a weekend as nearest the pin prizes.
John Goodrick scooped the BMW, while Paul Broadbent got to drive a mini for a couple of days.
Lefevre said: "Although it was a long and tiring day, the comments and happy faces from the golfers on the day kept me going and made it a fantastic experience.
"I was overwhelmed with the generosity of the members who played and Coopers of York for the help in setting up and the donations towards the day to help raise what we did."
