ONLY Osbaldwick can prevent Woodhouse Grange from lifting the Foss Evening League division one title.

Leaders Grange beat challengers North Dalton while York ended Dunnington's championship interest, leaving Osbaldwick as they only side left to halt the Woodhouse juggernaut.

Matt Durkin hit 29 not out and Chris Bilton 21 as Grange totalled 100-3 against North Dalton, who were restricted to 89-8. Grange will win the title should they win either of their remaining two games against Dunnington and Stamford Bridge.

Matt Hattee was the star of Osbaldwick's win against Pocklington, smashing 100 off 50 balls as they totalled 183-4. Pock opener Chris Saltmer hit 44 and Barry Higgins made a powerful 63 as Pock raced to 109 off 11 overs. Two quick wickets tipped the game into Osbaldwick's favour as they ran out winners by 32 runs.

York's overseas player Adam Whatley blasted Dunnington out of title contention after the Common Road side posted 152-4. Aussie batsman Whatley struck an unbeaten 96 which

included nine sixes, six of them off Murphy's bowling. With Keiron Bloor getting 26 from 10 balls, York knocked the runs off in 15 overs.

Stamford Bridge recorded their second away victory on the bounce with a comfortable win at Heworth, Mark Holmes top scoring for Bridge with 62.

It took until the seventh wicket for any Stockton & Hopgrove batsman to reach double figures against division two champions Bubwith. Alex Williams (22no) and Pete Fairclough (20no) put on 39 to help their side to limp to 72-7 from their 18 overs. Paul Van Dijk finished on 45 not out as Bubwith finished the game in 8.1 overs.

Jack Holman batted through the Yapham innings for an unbeaten 88 in the win against Londesborough Park.

Ovington were bowled out for just 61 by Bishopthorpe's, nine-man attack, 17-year-old Pat Mercer taking 3-11 and fast bowler Ian Holmes reverting to leg spin for 3-2. The Bishops cruised home in nine overs for the loss of three wickets.

Opener Dan Andrew powered Dunnington Academy to an eight-wicket win against Melbourne with an unbeaten 53. Melbourne made 87-7, Jonny Andrew taking 4-20.

Aviva Vikings' slim division three promotion hopes were ended by The Retreat I whose Salman Syed (42no) and Phil Holland (22no) finished the innings with a flourish as they closed on 160-3. Aviva responded with 36 runs from the first four overs but off-spinner Graham Byrne (3-27) and Syed (2-14) applied the brakes as Retreat won by 32 runs.

Heworth Colts must be glad to see the back of Alex Machen after the Thixendale batsmen hit his second century of the season off their attack. He stroked an impressive 102 not out as Dale won with 3.4 overs to spare. Earlier a fine partnership between Will Rymer (62no) and Michael Barrett (52no) had seen the Colts post 135-2.

Nadeem Shefta was the star in The Retreat II’s success against Tang Hall Tigers. His 39 laid the foundations of a 118 total. He then picked up three wickets in an over to finish with 4-18.
