REIGNING champions Old Malton St Mary’s suffered a setback in their bid to retain the York Minster Engineering Football League premier division as they drew 1-1 with Harrison Signs.

Saints trail leaders Riccall United by six points with only two games left to play after Harrison substitute Ben Ballantyne came off the bench to fire a rocket of a 20-yard equaliser on the hour.

Riccall only need to avoid defeat against Dringhouses tomorrow to clinch the title for the first time in nearly 30 years.

Alex Yates gave Terrington Glory a 55th-minute lead against Osbaldwick, but Sam Thompson levelled the scores ten minutes later.

With a couple of minutes remaining in the first half, Smallwood turned provider to tee up Pallister’s second.

Rawcliffe then broke from a Foss corner and Smallwood rounded the keeper to make it 6-0 at half-time.

Stuart Jenkins added a seventh after 65 minutes and Smallwood completed his hat-trick late on.
