CITY of York Athletic Club were the big winners at the 2015 Active York Sports Awards.
The club scooped three individual awards and were shortlisted in a host of other categories at the ceremony at the University of York's Roger Kirk Centre on Saturday night.
Rising shot put star Scott Lincoln claimed the Sportsman of the Year title, while sprint sensation Tom Somers was Young Male Sportsperson of the Year and club-mate Chelsea Walker was Young Female Sportsperson of the Year.
Rugby union player Ruth Laybourn won the Sportswoman of the Year crown after starring for England in the women's Six Nations.
York Cricket Club's all-conquering juniors were awarded the top Team/Club accolade, while Archbishop of York Junior School were the Active School of the Year.
York RI Judo's Beverley Bunyan was Coach of the Year, with the Volunteer of the Year gong going to Peter Swann, who helped set up York RI's girls football section.
Retiring City of York Hockey Club stalwart Bob Maltby earned the Outstanding Contribution to Sport award at the ceremony, which was attended by more than 200 people and hosted by the BBC's Tanya Arnold.
