NEW Earswick All Blacks ARLC made it back-to-back wins on the road in Pennine League Championship One with a 42-22 success at Brotherton Bulldogs.

The second-placed visitors started brightly and opened the scoring after only four minutes when Charlie Hill crossed for an unconverted try, with Tom Holmes doubling the lead with another unconverted score.

Player-coach Jack Stearman got in on the act after 15 minutes, powering over for Holmes to convert. Brotherton hit back with an unconverted try, but the All Blacks crossed again through Jack Hodgson after good support play. Holmes added the extras.

Holmes bagged his second try and converted, while he also goaled a second touch down from Hodgson just before half-time for a 32-4 All Blacks lead.

Brotherton narrowed the gap with two converted tries, but Holmes completed his hat-trick and added a conversion, before Jack Carling burrowed his way over the line. Brotherton bagged a last-minute converted try.

Man of the match was Stearman, who was backed up by Adam Caddie and Holmes.

Sherburn Bears suffered their fourth defeat of the division four season losing 38-14 at Dearne Valley Bulldogs. The Bears’ try-scorers were centres Johnboy Fenwick (2) and Nico Deville with one successful conversion from Martin Leahy.

Selby Warriors beat Wakefield City 27-24 in the same division.
