DUNNINGTON consolidated second position in the first division of the York Sunday Morning Football League after a 2-1 victory over Hounds.

Jimmy Willmoth broke through the Hounds back-line after 25 minutes before some good footwork from Harry Lynn minutes before the break allowed him to double their advantage.

A second-half comeback from Hounds reaped a superb 20-yard curling effort from Alan Jackson, but Dunnington held firm and collected the points.

Station climbed above Hounds on goal difference thanks to a 5-3 victory at Albion Vaults.

The home side’s tally was comprised of an own goal and efforts from Dave Reasbeck and Adam Durnin, but Station won out with strikes from Brenton Leister (2), Chris Coxon (2) and Ryan Whitlam.

NUR posted the shock result of the day in division two.

They ended York Nomads 100 per cent record courtesy of a 1-1 draw.

After a goalless first half, largely thanks to several fine saves from NUR keeper Jamie Ward, Nomads took the lead on 55 minutes.

However, an audacious lob from Sam Jackson levelled and, despite chances at both ends, neither side could capitalise to seal the victory.

Marcia Grey gained a second consecutive victory over Britannia Tadcaster.

Tommy Medd finished off a superb team goal early on before his cute through ball enabled Leigh Dutton to profit.

After the break, Tadcaster could not capitalise on excellent approach play and were punished when Medd scored a 25-yard drive.

Former York City winger Liam Shepherd converted a late penalty to seal a 4-0 win.

There was an upset in division three where leaders Cliffe were beaten 2-1 by York Medics.

Greg Chambers gave the Medics a half-time lead before Elliot Jones-Williams scored what turned out to be the decisive second goal early in the closing period.

Parker replied for Cliffe.

Janos Takacs (2), Shane Cawkill, Dave Whisker, Matthew Howden and Richard Milner were on target for Selby Olympia in their 6-0 brushing aside of Haxby United.
