BISHOPTHORPE will begin the defence of their York Vale Cricket League HPH Cup with a trip to Stillingfleet.

The Bishops did the cup double last season and their second team will travel to Heworth II in the Scothern Construction Cup.

Meanwhile, Pocklington will again host the league’s Raven Cricket Under-16 six-a-side competition which will be held at Burnby Lane on Sunday, June 28.

Heworth have won the trophy for the last two seasons.

The Headley Trophy will have a different format this season after the Senior League’s Eastern Conference representative opted not to put a side into the competition this summer. If there are no takers for the scoreboard, then the club would consider an offer for the numbers.
