TADCASTER ALBION'S four new recruits are eager to keep the club on track for a historic quadruple.

As the Brewers kept up their hunt for silverware on four fronts alive with a 6-1 thumping of Retford United in the fourth round of the League Cup in midweek, Danny Patterson, Danny Stimpson, Nathan Kamara and Danny Gray are adding strength and depth to manager Paul Marshall's squad.

The Ings Lane outfit are still competing in the FA Vase and West Riding County Cup and will look to extend their eight point advantage in the Northern Counties East League premier division when they entertain mid-table Thackley tomorrow.

Kamara, who recently signed from NCEL division one outfit Selby and is returning to full fitness following injury, said he knew he was in for a tough task to make the starting line-up.

"I’ve been at Tad before, so I’ve always taken an interest in the club, and I’ve been seeing a lot of good things happening recently," he said.

“I know a lot of the players down here, and they’re a very good side, so it’s going to be hard for me to push my way into the side. I need to get match fit, so I’ve obviously got to get some games under my belt.

“I just want to help them get promoted, and I think that’s very achievable. It’s a big squad and it’s a very strong squad."

Patterson, who has had a spell this season with Albion's league title rivals Shaw Lane Aquaforce, is travelling over from Rotherham to play and train at Tadcaster.

He said: "When I heard Tadcaster were interested in signing me, I was keen to meet with them straightaway, and as soon as I met the manager and the directors I knew I wanted to play for them. They have the same winning mentality as me.

“Despite living in Rotherham, I’m happy to travel if it means playing for a club which is really going places. I heard along the grapevine that the fans were even singing my name before I’d even signed, which is a huge confidence boost. I hope I can repay their support by helping them win the league.”

With Marshall convinced his side will reach Wembley in the Vase, Stimpson praised the Tadcaster crowds for their loud support.

“The crowds here at Tad are amazing," he said. "People often talk about the crowd being the 12th man, but that’s so true at Tad. When you’re getting tired, it gives you such a boost to hear the crowd cheering you on."

On his new men, Marshall said: "Nathan brings power and strength, and he can play in several positions, so he’s a good utility player.

“Danny Gray gives us another option up front because of his size and presence – especially if we want to go long like we did at Bridlington when he got us the win.

“Danny Patterson is a strong central midfielder. He can play anywhere across the middle of the field. He drives forward and is 100 per cent committed every game.

“I don’t know a lot about Danny Stimpson, but I’m told he’s a strong and commanding centre-half. We did have five defenders for four places, but now we’ve got six, so it means we’ve got options to rest players.

“Unfortunately Nathan can only play league games and Danny Gray can only play in the League Cup, but they still give us options to rest players.

“We are fighting on four fronts; the owners, myself and the players, and we are keen to win every game. It doesn’t matter which competition we’re playing in, we are strong enough to win every game.”
