TADCASTER ALBION boss Paul Marshall is unlikely to risk star striker Josh Greening even if their Northern Counties East League premier division trip to Glasshoughton Welfare escapes the bad weather tomorrow.

The club's top scorer would have missed the Brewers midweek outing at Nostell Miners Welfare with a sore ankle but the game was postponed following a bout of snow.

With Glasshoughton second bottom of the table, it's a game that should be well within the reach of Marshall's title chasers. While hoping an expected thaw doesn't waterlog the pitch and force another cancellation, the Ings Lane chief will not be risking any players who can't perform to their maximum.

"Denny will be okay," Marshall said of his inspirational centre-back Denny Ingram, who would have also missed the Nostell game with a niggle. "I don't know about Josh. I won't risk any of them. There are plenty of players available. Unless they are fully fit, it is pointless risking anyone.

"Denny might play. I don't think Josh will."

On his desire to play the game, Marshall added: "It's important we can get a game in but, obviously, it will all depend on the weather. It's supposed to be milder at the weekend but, if there has been snow, it could be waterlogged.

"So it's fingers crossed. You want to get in one game a week to keep ticking over. If you have two or three weeks before you get a game in you can lose your form."

Selby Town will benefit from several new arrivals ahead of their NCEL division one clash with Pontefract Collieries at Flaxley Road. Former York City youth Tom Chamberlain has signed from Pickering, while Ashley Hope starred in the 3-3 draw with Penistone last time out.

Manager Dave Ricardo has also swooped for left-back Liam Stonehouse. Nathan Kamara, meanwhile, has left the club to go to Tadcaster Albion.

Ricardo said: "Ponefract will be a strong side. This time of year suits them. They are physically strong but can we open them up? We will give them a game."

Pickering Town are without a game as their scheduled opponents, Shaw Lane Aquaforce, are playing their re-arranged FA Vase last 32 replay with Walsall Wood. Knaresborough Town go to Dronfield Town in NCEL division one.

After ending an eight game run without a win with a 2-1 victory over Boston United, Harrogate Town attempt to double up on the road at Solihull Moors in Conference North.

Neighbours Harrogate Railway are at Bamber Bridge in Evo-Stik League first division north, while Scarborough Athletic are also on the road at Farsley AFC.
